Angela and Angelina, 58, are both widows. Both their husbands were killed in the unrest of the 1990s. They now live in neighboring villages with their children: “We walk four hours every day to see each other. Before, it took us less time, but now our knees are too old.”
Twins living in Burundi in Africa have often faced trials of hardship through poverty, and the ravages of war and disease. Many of those who have pulled through such struggles cannot imagine what it must be like to face life on their own. But very often in such conditions, one of a pair of twins has not survived, leaving a sibling behind alone (via the Joop Swart Masterclass website).
