Johannesburg

Joburg is Africa’s L. A.  – lots of highways, cars, a run down downtown and snobby suburbs, lots of gates, fences and distrust. But the people are wonderful – I am a sucker for HAIRCUT STAYLES and African kiddies, and I was extremely impressed with the Apartheid Museum – especially with the small special exhibit of Ernest Cole’s photographs. Coming soon: A trip to Sophiatown, some downtown photographs, and multiple bus rides via Swaziland into Maputo/Mozambique.
