The Swiss railway cancels the night train from Zurich to Rome; the last train will depart this coming Saturday night. They claim it is no longer sustainable to maintain service on a slow night train when most people want to save time and therefore prefer planes to trains. Smart move, SBB! Especially since world leaders are pulling together and trying to fight climate change in Kopenhagen as we speak. What a great way to make traveling harder for environmentally conscious people! – I’ve taken the trip to Rome three times this year, along with my twin BFFs who work as stewardesses on the night train. Falling asleep to the rattling of the waggons, waking up in the morning smelling coffee, still moving, seeing the sun peek through the Tuscany mist – that’s what I call TRAVELING IN STYLE!
As a homage to the night train, I present to you a few pictures that I took on these three memorable trips.
And then you’re in Rome, in the middle of the city, and it’s still early, and you get to enjoy real Italian coffee and a croissant. Is there anything better? I think not.
Die Bilder sind sehr schön, die Stimmung kommt gut hinüber!
Addio treno notte – sei stato un fedele compagno di viaggio!
Mir gefallen Deine Observationen auch sehr. Vielen Dank.
