I photographed Hortense Anda-Bührle on June 24th in her fabulous Zurich house. Every room was immaculately decorated with old-fashioned furniture and huge bouquets of flowers. When I did some research about Mrs Anda before the shoot, I found a Magnum picture of her with Herbert von Karajan on a boat. I was very excited to ask her about being photographed by Erich Lessing, but when I brought it up, she unfortunately didn’t remember anything about it.
